On November 29th, the Mazhang Agricultural Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Pilot Zone and the Lucky Bamboo Special Promotion were successfully launched at the 21st China International Agricultural Products Fair.

From a "mascot" symbolizing good fortune in the eyes of Chinese people to a "cash cow" for Mazhang farmers to become wealthy; from a "new online celebrity" topping social media feeds to an "internationally renowned" product making waves across the seas—seven out of every ten lucky bamboos globally come from Mazhang. According to statistics, Mazhang's lucky bamboo exports account for over 70% of the national total, with products being exported to more than 30 countries and regions in Europe, America, the Middle East, and RCEP member countries. As of October 2024, it has earned US$10.53 million in foreign exchange, a 5% increase compared to the same period last year.

To help lucky bamboo sail further into international markets and reach new heights, Mazhang District has actively seized the RCEP opportunity to drive the development of industrial clusters. At the event, Huang Tuqian, General Manager of the Integrated Marketing Department of the Three Rural Centers of China Pacific Property Insurance Co., Ltd. Guangdong Branch, and representatives of Mazhang lucky bamboo enterprises, led by Lanying Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., took the stage to establish the International Export Alliance, leading Mazhang agricultural products to "go global."

It is reported that Mazhang will focus on leveraging the advantages of the Agricultural Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Pilot Zone to create an open agricultural economy highland, serving both domestic and international markets, actively polishing the international brand of Mazhang lucky bamboo, strengthening technical and other information and service support for enterprises through a sound system of benefiting and assisting farmers; leveraging cooperative advantages with local institutions such as Guangdong Ocean University and the South China Subtropical Crops Research Institute to support agricultural seedling and research and development innovations; establishing a green financing service channel for banks and enterprises to promote agricultural scale, branding, and standardization, shaping agricultural brands with core competitiveness, and building an open agricultural economy highland.

In the future, Mazhang will continue to deepen and strengthen the branding of lucky bamboo, achieve a solid grasp of both domestic and international markets through export reverse promotion and the development of domestic mid-to-high-end markets, advance high-quality development in the agricultural sector of the "Hundreds, Thousands, and Ten Thousands Project," and actively promote agricultural modernization, digitization, and intelligent development led by characteristic and advantageous agriculture, focusing on shaping agricultural brands with core competitiveness and building an open agricultural economy highland.
